The Dallas Cowboys have finalised a trade for Micah Parsons to be sent to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for DT Kenny Clark & Two Future First Round Picks.
The addition of Parsons elevates Green Bay’s ability to make a deep playoff run and seems a necessary investment in taking this team to the next level.
Green Bay only had to give up Kenny Clark as far as personnel is concerned and whilst a loss, Clark was not able to perform at the level he began his already lengthy career at, the two first round picks do limit the options in the future should the trade not reap the hopeful benefits.
This trade has a very similar feel to the Packers acquisition of Hall Of Famer Reggie White and the signing of Charles Woodson both deals that massively paid off for Green Bay and many fans and execs will be hoping this trade follows suit.
As for Dallas it was a horribly kept secret that the team would simply not be able to sign Dak Prescott, Ceedee Lamb and Parsons, though Jerry Jones apparent negligence to negotiate with his star player seem to have brought this situation to it’s conclusion this evening.
Micah in his four seasons in the NFL has racked up 52.5 career sacks and multiple personal awards including being a three time Pro Bowler in just four seasons he adds a much needed defensive reinforcement to a Packers defence that looks slightly weak in the division they are currently in.
Parsons pairs with young star Edgerrin Cooper to bring a brutal line-backer room to the NFC North and one that will have their NFC rivals looking over their shoulders, Green Bay stills needs improvement in their secondary and will be hoping Nate Hobbs can elevate his game and some young talent can step up.
Green Bay open their season against the Lions at Ford Field next Sunday, Whilst the Dallas Cowboys travel to reigning Superbowl champions and division rival Philadelphia Eagles.
