Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers are obviously going to be in the Championship conversation whilst they still have Lebron James and now Luka Doncic (if he isn’t injured) they stand to be a major contender heading into the new season, I am sure nobody would mind the simple answer in saying Luka Doncic is probably the most exciting player to watch in this team this season.
However,
I will be picking Austin reaves for the simple fact it didn’t seem like the Lakers with former Center Anthony Davis and LeBron had a 3rd option that can get LA both points and assists to contribute effectively on offence with the jump he has finally made being a 20+ PPG player with good efficiency and good all round averaging 6 assists and 5 rebounds a game with respectable defence for his position .
I think Reaves is a perfect 3rd option for this Lakers team this year with a well balanced roster and really could push to get Lebron his fifth ring and Luka his first.
Time will tell.
Los Angeles Clippers
This team would be so good if it was 5 years ago, It is a fun team for fans that watched a lot of 2010s/2020s NBA just on the names alone, James Harden is still a good playmaker and very solid scorer and weirdly the most available star in this team.
Bradley Beal isn’t quite the scorer he used to be but can still put up decent numbers however missed almost half the season similarly is the case for Kawhi Leonard who would also still be solid for the team if he played at least half the season injury problems seems to be the theme for this team but a healthy Clippers team would be a brilliant team but unfortunately that’s not how this works.
I do think John Collins could be a really exciting player to watch on this Clippers team with his dominant scoring and solid defence. He could be just what they need but to be honest they could do with a miracle for keeping players healthy.
Golden State Warriors
With all due respect, it genuinely shocks me that the Warriors have won a championship in the last few seasons but I suppose with Steph Curry anything can happen I feel like it goes without saying almost certainly Steph is always probably going to be the most exciting player to watch during their season even at the age of 37, the guy is still incredible.
However, I will be focusing on Brandin Podziemski at 22 years old he is a good prospect for this Warriors team averaging 12 points per game on decent efficiency as a second season player that is decent scoring numbers in 26 minutes a game.
His off the ball skills are impressive and could shape up to be great for the team and averages 5 boards a game as a guard. Assists could be improved but as a SG it isn’t massively vital. If he could boost up his three point shooting numbers then he could be a serious asset for the team next season and shape up into a top 5 guard in the league in years to come.
Sacramento Kings
The Kings are a really weird franchise at the minute It seems to have been going downhill for a while but the play-ins were promising to try and prevent the fall any further.
Other than a Zach Lavine redemption arc the most promising and exciting player on the roster would be Keegan Murray he has been consistently averaging 12+ points since joining the league in 2022 with good rebound numbers.
He is a strong option on both offence and defence and can develop even further into a very good forward for the Kings, his scoring efficiency isn’t the strongest but decent enough to work on.
All in all they could potentially be a playoff team if they can work out a good structure.
Phoenix Suns
Just like the Sixers, the Suns had a very disappointing year with some star players in unfortunate circumstance namely Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, however both had very disappointing years.
The off-season is good if it was a rebuilding team but the Suns wouldn’t want to be considered that to the Suns credit though the pieces they got for KD are good for the team and good value for a near 37 year old.
Jalen Green would be one of the most exciting players on that team going into his 5th year he is a great scoring option averaging 21 PPG last season on relatively decent efficiency his defence is better than people make it out to be, he is solid defensively but mainly used as a scorer.
Overall this team has the potential to be a play-in/playoff team.
